Why can't I just press the spacebar?

WhatsApp, Discord, and most games run a trim check on input and delete ordinary spaces. Unicode characters like U+3164 count as valid text, so the field accepts them, but nothing visible is drawn.

Can I get banned for using a blank name?

What is the difference between U+3164, U+2800, and U+200B?

U+3164 has the width of a normal character and satisfies minimum-length checks. U+2800 is a punctuation character, which helps when letters are blocked. U+200B has zero width and is used to separate letters without adding space.
